Popping Into the Closet
Text and photography: Micha van Dinther and Magnus Wittbjer
On my way past a small store facade I had past a hundred times before, something – maybe the window display, or just a reflection in the glass – made me stop and take a closer look. Stepping inside, I quickly realised, from the curation of fashion pieces orderly hung in the walk-in closet-esque interior by local firm Rumrum, that this was the real deal. I had, when relocating to Malmö years ago, reconciled with the fact that brands like Aspesi, Dondup and Incotex were sourced abroad. Finding Per Ljung’s eponymous store, I was exhilarated by the idea that I could now find all these wonderful brands and gorgeous pieces right here at home.
Over time, Per Ljung became a friend, and someone whose taste and style instinct I could rely on. Now, several years later, he knows my wardrobe better than I do myself. And the best part? The fact that he is honest when he gives impeccable style advice.

The alliance that both Magnus and I feel with Per Ljung is now extending to a new chapter. We are happy to invite you to our second edition of TypeO temporary physical retail experience – TypeOrary. Between December 7 and 16, TypeO welcomes you to Per Ljung men’s fashion shop in downtown Malmö.
Italian 'sprezzatura' meets a curated selection of designer goods for the home, a collaborative universe between Per Ljung and TypeO that tells a story and shapes a multilayered retail experience for personal style.
Left, pieces by Swedish ceramist Carl-Harry Stålhane and Italian fashion brand L.B.M. 1911 go well together, and right, a desk decorated with books and details from Ystudio, Hasami Porcelain, La Petite Papeterie Française, as well as hand-crafted Italian eyewear from Oblyk.
Come browse and become inspired to buy handsome Christmas gifts for yourself or someone that you like.
